Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar (SSN) College of Engineering an Autonomous Institute is the outcome of the vision and initiative of Padma Bhushan Dr. Shiv Nadar, Chairman of HCL Technologies Ltd. Established in 1996 on a sprawling campus of 250 acres on the Rajiv Gandhi Salai (OMR). The Institution offers eight B.E./B. Tech. degree programs and eleven M.E./M.Tech. degree programs in addition to MBA program. This ISO 9001:2008 certified Institution has been accredited by NAAC with an 'A+' Grade and all eligible programs have been accredited by NBA for 5 years. The institution has consistently stood top among engineering colleges affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. The college is ranked 48th in Engineering Category in India Rankings 2022 listed by NIRF, MHRD. The SSN ranked 7th among best private engineering colleges in India in Edu Rand Awards, 2015. In DQ-CMR survey, SSN ranks 24th among all engineering colleges in India. SSN received the "Asia's Best Private Education Institute Award" for the year 2012-13 from World Consulting and Research Corporation (WCRC) processed and evaluated by KPMG, "Top Institute of India Award" for the years 2010 & 2012 instituted by Competition Success Review (CSR), New Delhi and "Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan National Award" for an Engineering College having the Best Overall Performance for the year 2006 from ISTE. The management awards over 600 scholarships worth Rs.4.3 crores every year to meritorious and deserving students. The college has Wi-Fi connectivity, -learning enabled classrooms and state of the art laboratories with softwares.
